Avondale is a lively, multicultural suburb with a surprisingly rich food scene clustered around Great North Road and Rosebank Road — all within easy walking distance of the station. The area is anchored by the famous Avondale Sunday Market, one of Auckland's best-loved weekly markets, held at the racecourse just down the road. The train is by far the easiest way to get here on market day.
🌅 Sunday Market tip: The Avondale Sunday Market runs from 5am to noon — early birds get the best produce and finds. Jump on a Western Line train and avoid the Sunday morning parking chaos entirely.
