Middlemore Station has one primary purpose — to serve Middlemore Hospital, one of New Zealand's largest and most comprehensive public hospitals, which sits directly outside the station entrance. The train is by far the most practical way to reach the hospital for visitors, patients and staff, avoiding the considerable difficulty and cost of parking on the campus. The bus stop and train station are both located directly outside the Hospital Road entrance.

🚗 Parking at Middlemore Hospital is expensive and limited. Only 30 minutes of free parking is available — after that, visitor rates apply. The train takes 32 minutes from Waitematā, and the station is right at the hospital entrance. We strongly recommend taking the train.
