Ranui is a quiet local station on the Western Line, serving the Ranui neighbourhood in West Auckland. The Swanson Road town centre — with shops, cafes and the Ranui Library — is a 7-minute walk from the station along Ranui Station Road. Ranui Domain is the area's main attraction, with a recently rebuilt playground that is one of the best in the area. The Ranui Community Centre on Swanson Road is a well-loved local hub with an attached café.

"They just rebuilt the playground and it was amazing!!" A large domain with a recently rebuilt playground that is the highlight of the area — a tall play tower with slides, swings, trampoline and water play that kids love. The wider domain has good open fields (with some slopes), a pond, built-in exercise equipment and park benches. "Nice spot for a run or walk with a nice little pond." Large car park adjacent. A great reason to take the train out to Ranui for a family afternoon. Free, open 24 hours.

A warmly regarded community centre with a café attached — on Swanson Road, 7 minutes from the station.
"Such a gem in the community of Ranui." The attached Café Kōrero provides delicious food with great service. Community gardens on site. "Great spot bustling with community initiatives — why not pop in for coffee or lunch?" Room hire available for meetings, gatherings and events. A welcoming hub for the whole community, right on Swanson Road. Mon–Fri 9am–3pm.

🅿 Ranui has a small formal park and ride of 21 spaces off Pooks Road on the south side of the station. Additional street parking is also available on Pooks Road and Ranui Station Road for those who can't find a space in the formal park and ride.
