A pleasant walking and cycling path that follows the Oratia Stream through the Sunnyvale neighbourhood — a quiet, green corridor through this residential area at the foot of the Waitākere Ranges. The path is approximately 5km in length and gives a relaxed, low-traffic route through the community. Best suited to walking and leisure cycling — some sections run alongside residential streets, while others follow the stream more closely through native plantings. Free, open 24 hours.

A large and well-loved community park with something for everyone. The highlight is a fantastic multi-level play tower with slides for children of all ages, plus a sandpit, water play system and swings. Also on site: a well-maintained cricket ground with two pitches, a skate ramp, basketball court and half court, park benches along walking paths and public toilets with drinking fountains. "Beautiful park for walking — great playground for kids of all ages." A vegetable store, dairy and two bakeries are right across the road. Free, open 24 hours.
